Welcome back to Fantasy Friday where you will find reviews of classic and new books!
Wow, what an intense book! This sequel to The Child Queen is just as awesomely written as its predecessor. Guinevere continues her tale as her life as Arthur’s beloved wife. The passion she shares with Lancelot also continues to burn unabated, but they are determined to remain faithful to the king they both love, even if it kills them. She suffers much because of this and also from fear for Arthur’s safety with Saxons and other enemies around. But she is one strong woman. She feels everything deeply, and you with her.
Mordred also has a starring role in this story. He loves his father and is devastated to hear of the prophecy he will be the instrument of his father’s death. He begs for this not to be true, but if there is no way to undo this, he determines to remain faithful until the terrible day.
I loved this book and highly recommend it to anyone who loves Arthurian fiction. I enjoyed the welcome twists to the story.
